I think I can, I think I can!

I used to do gymnastics all of the time when I was a kid.  I was carefree, agile, and ready to try anything once!  I used to be able to at least attempt to do a handstand, but now I’m too terrified of breaking my neck… SO it’s my new goal to learn how to do a handstand before I turn 25!  That gives me two years to practice!  Until then, join me on my quest by following these simple steps:

Fasion Wednesday – Trends I Hate

“That is the ugliest effing skirt I’ve ever seen”

You know how every era has those trends that get ya down?  Like shoulder pads, or popped collars, or wearing your pants belted at the knees…STUPID.  In every generation/wave of styles and trends, there are always going to be really odd trends that people are going to look back on and think “WHAT was I wearing?!” and then their kids will say “OMG, your OUTFIT!”  When people look back on this generation and they have theme parties of the 2010’s they’re going to dress in leggings and uggs and just twerk around… how wonderful.  So here they are, the trends I hate right now:

FLORAL WREATHS

Especially fake flower ones.  If you have beautiful real flowers in your hair, then well done, but if they’re cheap fake shit trying to look like real flowers?  Stupid.

DIY Tuesday – Hallowe’en Costumes!

Trick or Treat, smell my AMAZING costume!

I LOVE Hallowe’en.  There’s no way around it, I just love, love, love it!  It combines three of my favourite things: 1. Dressing up in costumes.  2. Watching Scary movies. and 3. Bite-sized candies.  I like to get REALLY creative with my Hallowe’en costumes, and since this year’s is still in progress, here are some of my past creations:

Mealtime Monday – Mini Cheesecakes!

Pumpkin, Apple Crumble and Cheesecake. YUM

Thanksgiving is a time of love and laughter…and most of all delicious food.  But after ALL that delicious food, you want to experience the sweet, sweet taste of autumn desserts.  Now, I don’t know about you, but I want it all… apple pie, pumpkin pie, cheesecake, you name it, it’s on my plate.  That’s a LOT of food.  That’s the beauty of mini cheesecakes!  All the taste, packed in a little cupcake liner of deliciousness.

PLAIN MINI CHEESECAKE RECIPE

Mini-Cheesecake-33g

3 8 oz packages of cream cheese

1 cup of sugar

3 eggs

1 package of cookies for the crust (I used Dare Cinnamon Danish cookies! MMMM)

1 tsp vanilla extract

1/4 tsp nutmeg

Preheat oven to 350.  Blend softened cream cheese and sugar together until smooth.  Blend eggs in one at a time until smooth.  Mix in vanilla extract and nutmeg.  Line muffin tin with cupcake liners and press a cookie into the bottom of each one.  Pour cream cheese mixture into the cups until they are all about 2/3 full.  Bake for about 20-30 minutes.  Remove from oven and refrigerate for at least 3 hours before serving.  Makes 24.
