“It’s Like a Spa Day…but Funner!”

Hey everyone, my most recent health & fitness escapades have honestly felt more like going to the spa than anything else!  It’s been très relaxing, dahhhling 😉 hahaha, but seriously, I think it’s important to treat yourself well and keep yourself happy.  Being genuinely happy, I believe, is probably one of the best ways to be healthy.  You can have a body fat percentage of 6%, but if you’re not happy, it doesn’t really matter in the end, does it?  But I digress, treat yourself this week, you’ll thank yourself!  So this week I’m reviewing the Glam Glow Supermud Clearing Treatment and Bikram Hot Yoga!

GLAM GLOW REVIEW!

glamglowAlright, I’ve been wanting to try this mask for a long time, ever since I read about it online at least 6 months ago.  Basically it’s described as “The world’s most scientifically advanced SUPERMUD clearing treatment.”  It’s supposed to treat all common problems like breakouts, discoloration, black and white heads, razor bumps, and in-grown hair. First of all, I was shocked by the colour of this product, it’s virtually a very dark grey with the occasional fleck of what looks like charcoal throughout. You apply a very thin even coat over your face, and wait for 20 minutes for the magic to happen. The mud IMG_1038draws out the congestion which ends up looking like little grey dots on your face, which is really lovely… but anyway, you wash it off, I was worried this was going to stain everything in my bathroom, but it’s actually very clean.  I loved the results, I could see the problem areas I need to focus on for next time, and my skin just looked refreshed, and felt amazing!  I would definitely recommend this!  But beware, it costs $69.00 at Sephora, so before you make the splurge, don’t be shy to ask if you can try a sample of the product, they are always more than happy to let you try it out first!

YOGA!

I bought a Groupon for Bikram Hot Yoga a little while ago, $20 for a month of unlimited yoga.  Pretty great deal if you ask me, and I had done 2 hot yoga classes before just down the street at a different studio.  After I purchased the Groupon, I noticed on the schedule that all of the classes are 90 minutes long… that’s a long time hahahah, I was nervous!  Bikram is a series of 26 positions, the first series is standing positions, the second series is positions down on the mat.  It was very intense, and they said that your first class (at least my first one in a long time) is the most difficult, because your body yogais getting rid of a lot of toxins, and…it’s frickin’ hot. I drank a lot of water, and rested and focused on my breathing when I needed too.  I really enjoyed the class, and the feeling I had for hours after as well as the next day. I felt energized, slightly sore, but I think that was just feeling muscles that I haven’t focused on in a long time. I especially felt it in my lower back!  I would definitely advise that everyone get out there and try a yoga class, it doesn’t need to be hot yoga, but I think the heat is helpful for loosening your muscles to stretch more. Don’t be shy, and don’t be scared to fall over or look like an idiot, I do all of the time!

Get out there this week and find something that you’ve always wanted to try and just do it! Or try and find a video on Youtube or something, just make sure you’re doing it for you, not ANYONE else!
