Hey everybody!  I figured that I should probably explain “To Do Thursdays” before I get started.  “To Do Thursdays” are all about…well you guessed it: things to do!  Some things are future to-do’s, a.k.a. for the old Bucket List, and others are things you can do this weekend!  I’m not just about crafts and beauty, you have to be able to get out there and enjoy life too!

OK, so let me tell you about the “Disney Princess Half Marathon”!  It’s really cool, it’s a 13.1 mile course running through the Magic Kingdom and Epcot parks.  There is entertainment and characters scattered throughout the course, I mean really, how fun is that?  But that’s not all!  Participants also receive a “Champion” shirt, Disney Princess bag, tiara shaped finishing medal, and lots of other cool things!  Something else that’s fun is you can do the marathon as a 2-princess team!  When you run as a team you get addition prizes including commemorative sashes, a team photo, and, as another bonus, you’re eligible for Team awards!

Now if you don’t think you’re quite up for the challenge of a half marathon, there’s also the “Disney Enchanted 10K”!  A 10K run or walk through Epcot with the same magical finish!  OR if you’re REALLY up for a challenge, you can do both, which is called the “Glass Slipper Challenge” where you win the Glass Slipper finishing medal.  Want to get your whole family involved?  Do the “Cinderella Royal Family 5K”!  Don’t want to get involved?  Sign your kids up for the “runDisney Kids Races”.  Seriously, there are options for everyone.  After all of the races are over there is a “Happily Ever After Party” at Downtown Disney for all of the participants and their guests.  Looking for a pre-marathon event?  Enjoy breakfast with the Disney princesses at the weekend brunch beforehand.

10k-1

These races fill up pretty quickly, in fact, the 2014 races are already sold out.  The races take place in February, so the best timeto sign up is the year before in July or August (and if you register before August 13th it only costs $160 instead of $190).

All in all, I think this is one of the coolest things ever and I definitely have it on my Bucket List!  This is a definite TO DO!

Thanks for reading!
