Mealtime Monday – Eggs for DAYS

Green Eggs and Muffins

Eggs are the best thing ever.  I love making egg dishes, they’re always filling and healthy!  And easy as anything.  I swear, everyone’s going to think I’m the laziest person when I cook because everything I make is so easy!  I’ll try to start doing some more difficult dishes…maybe.

SUPER PROTEIN AVOCADO EGG SALADIMG_0026

-2 boiled eggs

-1 avocado

-a little mayo/miracle whip, to your liking

Chop the boiled eggs in a bowl, into small pieces.  Cut and pit the avocado, put all of the green goodness into the bowl with the eggs.  Mash it up as best you can, then add a little of your mayo/miracle whip.  It will help smooth the avocado out and give it a tangy zip of flavour.  Sometimes I eat this using a lettuce leaf as a “wrap”, but more often than not I eat it out of the bowl like a salad.  This stuff is so delicious, and REALLY healthy.  I love making this, it’s my go to lunch pretty much everyday.  And it’s vegetarian/can be vegan friendly! Dreamworld Saturday – Sleepover Attic

Sleepovers just got 100x more awesome.

Attics.  Who needs ’em?  I do.  And I need them to be converted into amazing fun filled sleepover rooms.  What would I have given when I was a child to have had a pillow filled slumber party dreamland in my dream house?  The PERFECT sleepover space.  Where we could veg out all night and eat junk food and watch movies and not disturb anyone!  Here’s some ideas of what I mean…

Health & Fitness Friday – My Favourite!

That’s JUST what I needed!

Like I said last week, you should always make yourself happy!  This week I’m going to talk about how to find awesome healthy substitutes for your junk food cravings, and how to switch up your workout regime with something you love!

HEALTH

I’m a huge fan of finding awesome snack swaps, because I don’t like to deny myself what I crave, but I don’t want to indulge in a whole bag of chips either!  I want to satisfy the craving in the healthiest way possible without sacrificing taste, because when you do that, you don’t satisfy the craving, and then you just end up doing double the damage.  So here’s what I do:

Salty (Chips)      SOLUTION: Special K Cracker Chips.  OK, seriously, healththese things are BETTER than chips.  They’re absolutely delicious and they come in a variety of classic chip flavours like Original, Sour Cream & Onion (MY FAVE), and Cheddar.  An EASY swap, and totally satisfying, better than the real thing without the guilt!  Only 80 calories in 18 chips as opposed to about 150 in regular chips, that’s cutting your calories in HALF! Kissin’ Time!

OK, I believe that there are 3 MARVELOUS kisses that everyone needs to experience, and YES these are on my bucket list.  Is it too much to ask for MMM Kisses?  MMM as in Magical Movie Moment.  These are my top 3 kisses that EVERYONE needs to perfect before it’s TOO LATE!

Public and passionate!  This is a romantic time because it’s a huge milestone!  A new year together!  Amazing locations are a plus!

Well only the most memorable kiss of your LIFETIME.  This is bound to be perfect anyway, so no rules!

These are absolutely on my bucket list, and I don’t care how long it takes!  Hahaha, maybe I’m crazy, but I want to have my life feel like a movie sometimes!  Don’t settle for anything less than the best, because YOU DESERVE IT!  So get out there and do some kissin’!

Fashion Wednesday – Respruce, Reuse, Recycle!

“Don’t throw that out!”

Know those old clothes of your moms?  Or those hand-me-downs that are less than impressive?  Or those jeans that you LOVE, but are totally worn out in the crotch?  DON’T THROW THEM OUT!  OK, well, don’t be a pack rat either (trust me, I’ve gone there, some things actually aren’t worth saving…not many, but some).  I’m going to show you some of my most recent projects and give you lots of examples of what to do with those clothes that just don’t work anymore!

Are your jeans worn out in the crotch, but you still love them?  That just recently happened to me, and I got a brilliant idea: denim pencil skirt time.  I recently got rid of (aka donated or hand-me-downed) my only jean skirt, because I’d had it for years and it never looked good on me, it was an unflattering cut.  So I figured: I like how I look in pencil skirts…so why not try a denim pencil skirt?  And then the ripped up jeans just somehow fell in my lap…out of my drawer. And I made this skirt!

2. GRAPHIC TEES

Have those t-shirts you JUST don’t want to get rid of?  ALL THE TIME?! Me too, there are hundreds of ideas on Pinterest.  There are t-shirt “redos” and t-shirt crafts all over the place.  You can do anything from making a “favourite t-shirt quilt”, to an adorable off the shoulder comfy shirt, to making a too small t-shirt bigger. Hey everyone!  So I’ve been collecting all kinds of cool odds and ends this summer, solely in the name of crafts!  I’ve got gadgets and gizmos aplenty, I’ve got whozzits and whatsits galoooore… but seriously, I collected items from garage sales, antique stores, broken bins at jewellery stores, going through my mom’s old jewellery, etc!  I decided to turn them into beautiful hair accessories, because honestly, you can never have too many hair accessories 😉
